Information for International Viewers

We have already accrued a great deal of interest from viewers outside of the United Kingdom; our initial site concentrating on history – www.thehistoryfaculty.com – was seen in 134 countries. In fact, the majority of views on that site were from outside the United Kingdom. We hope to help not only British students but those from all over the world with this free and downloadable resource.

This site is useful not only for direct learning; those who are thinking about studying at a British university can find not only promotional materials but experience some of the lectures and “meet” the lecturers.

What is an A-level?

AS (Advanced Subsidiary) and A (Advanced) level qualifications are the UK equivalent of university entrance subjects. They often take place at institutions separate from schools and are in between school and university. In the opinion of our directors (two of us were educated at least in part in North America) they are the equivalent of the first-year of university on the other side of the pond. They normally take two years to complete full-time.
